Basic Policy of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP)Company Profile

Basic Policy of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

1. Basic Philosophy of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP)

The Company places the highest priority on ensuring the safety of its employees and their families in the event of emergencies including collapse or damage to buildings and equipment (including processing and inspection equipment) resulting from natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons, heavy rainfalls, flooding, and fires, as well as cyber incidents including ransomware.

At the same time, as a member of supply chain, the Company is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities to provide service through its laser processing technology and to supporting the uninterrupted operation of customer's production activities.

Through these effort, the Company aims to maintain and enhance corporate value by ensuring business continuity while contributing to local community and society.

2. Three Basic Policies

1) Protecting Human Life and Safety and Continuous Employment

Ensuring Employee Safety: In the event of a disaster, the company shall place the highest priority on protecting the lives and safety of its employees.

Preservation of Technical Expertise and Employment: The engineers and technicians who support our laser processing operations are among the Company's most valuable assets. We are committed to maintaining employment following a disaster and providing support to help employees in rebuilding their lives.

2) Early Recovery of Core Business (Identification of Critical Operations)

Target Focus: Based on the perspectives of importance and urgency, the Company shall prioritize the recovery of equipment such as processing machines and restore them sequentially.

Target Recovery Time: The company aims to resume partial operations within seven days after a disaster and restore normal operations within eight weeks.

Protection of Precision Equipment: To prevent damage in laser processing machines caused by optical axis misalignment or vibration, the Company will implement measures such as securing of equipment, ensuring backup power supplies, and pursue priority maintenance agreements with equipment manufacturers. Similar protective measures shall also be applied inspection machines and other equipment.

3) Maintaining Trust with Customers

Ensuring Transparency: We will alleviate customer anxiety by promptly and accurately disclosing information regarding the extent of damage and expected recovery timelines.

Supply Chain Continuity (Exploring Alternative Measures): To prepare for contingencies where processing at our own facilities becomes difficult, we will pursue mutual cooperation agreements with peer companies within the industry. By collaborating with external partners, we will establish a system that prevents supply chain disruptions, thereby fully honoring our commitments to our customers.

3. Operation and Continuous Improvement

Education and Training: We will conduct BCP simulation drills at least once a year to enhance the response capabilities of all employees.

Review: This policy will be reviewed periodically in response to changes in the management environment or equipment updates.

4. Creation of BCP Manuals

In accordance with this Basic Policy, the Company shall create a BCP response manual for emergencies arising from natural disasters as well as separate BCP manual addressing cyber security emergencies. The Company shall also ensure that the contents of these manuals are thoroughly understood by all employees in order to achieve business continuity and rapid recovery in the event of a disaster or emergency.
